Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China, the present day. Qian Xiaofei (Liu Ying), who graduated from university two years ago, has been out of work for two months and can't pay her rent. She finally gets a job in the client service department of Charm, a beauty products company run by Cao Jun (Ken Lok), whose product development head is ambitious Professor Chen Jiarong (James Huang).
